Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap!

Ah, what a fine day (and night) it was!

Four years ago today the lovely (and talented) Rosemary Leigh Everest took my clammy hand in marriage and despite the best efforts of a phalanx of lawyers, several shell corporations in the Bahamas, some suspiciously almond-tasting drinks over the years, and multiple Black Widow spiders coincidentally nesting in my slippers (good one honey!) we remain wedded to this very day! What a ride! Thank you for every minute and let's do another lap!
And big heartfelt thanks to all our friends and family who have supported us through the years, bbq and ice creams cakes all around!
Champ, Highroller and the Weasel, out.

Didn't we have a week of Sean already???

Regardless, I guess that we should be nice to the man since his birthday is tomorrow. These are the three (3) reasons that I love Sean so much.

He is a better dresser than I am...

...he is a better skier than me....

...and he's a better mountain biker that me.

HBD Sean!

Intense wind-sprints!

Highroller and the Weasel training hard-core with some Tour watching-sorbet eating intervals. Back to back, 5 minutes on, 1 minute off...work it! It might just be a proud Papa talking, but look at the kid's form! You can't train for that, you just have to be born with that kind of natural skill. He could be one of the greats!

Nice Horsey

So this is how my 41st birthday began: Shotgunning a PBR in the barn before we headed out on a "little spin up Sunshine." That cool rock formation behind me is the Wheeler Geological Site just West of the ranch by about 3 hours. There's a little shed there to rest or find your bearings. We tried to ride to this alpine lake where the fish were big and plentiful. Ride was long and sssuper sssscenic but we ended up a bit short of our destination when 7:30 rolled around and there was still 2-3 miles to Machine Lake. Came down some wicked steep passes and might even consider some of the stuff we rode a bit on the dangerous side. But when does that ever stop any of us? Cool trip for sure and all told we rode about 60 miles. Those saddles are larger than the ones on my bikes but still was a bit sore after 17 hrs in the saddle. Enjoy these little outings while you can I say. Even if you walk funny a bit after it.

Das 'Boat

Thanks to a full squadron of FR Cyclonauts supplementing the SS contingent bIKE cLUB was able to launch our standard all-out attack on the local trails, specifically Scott's up off of Seedhouse Rd. Trail was sweet, riders were launching attacks like a well-oiled machine and lo and behold, a handy creek appeared for soakage!

Car is where we keep beers!

Thanks all for coming up and helping celebrate Chainsaw's 40th b-day!

Happy Birthday Rose!

And big thanks to all the Cyclonauts who made it up to the 'Boat to help celebrate over the weekend! Great to see y'all, ride, scooter, drink tiny margaritas in the sun, soak in the hotsprings, eat bacon, watch the Tour, Corn-hole, grill out and generally do those things that we do best! Happy 40th to Rose "Champ" Alford! Also Happy Birthday on Friday to Pete ("SSMW") Kieliszewski and prepare yourselves for the upcoming Albino Sasquatch hatching anniversary (next Tues?)

Chainsaw wins!

Grabbing the hole-shot at the start of the Emerald XC Town Challenge race in Steamboat Wednesday night Chainsaw dueled it out for the first bit of the climb before making her pass into first near the top. The singletrack and downhill let her stretch out her lead to over a minute by the finish line. Nats will be her last Sport race I reckon!

To the victor go the spoils!

Week of Sean Continues

What a week for SEAN!!

Wednesday night Short Track series finally started off with a BANG tonight with Sean "Furious" Steeves taking FIRST place in the Men's B Race. After a good start, Sean was sitting in fifth position for the first a few laps, and then exploded into the top three. With two laps to go, Sean rocketed off the front and rode the rest of the field off his wheel for a well deserved victory.

Johan Bruyneel said in a post race new conference that "Steeves was amazing. His performance today was not human." Bruyneel's comments brought criticism from bIKE cLUB communications director Allison Seymour. "What is Bruyneel insinuating?” Seymour noted, “That Sean’s performance today was not natural? That his performance was based on performance enhancing drugs? I hope that the Astana director is not referring to Landis or Hamilton with his comments about Sean.”

Seven time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong twittered that "@seansteeves was on fire today. Boulder got what it asked for, and he kept his clothes on. Congrats.” Then, Armstrong accidentally posted this tweet. "DM @seansteeves: Dr. Fuentes has your blood work. Call Levi or Alberto and they can pick it up for you in Spain. LA."

In recognition of Sean's accomplishment, Nike and Armstong's Livestrong Foundation started a commemorative yellow wrist bracelet program pictured above. Proceeds benefit the Sean Steeves Foundation for Young Russian Hotties.

Of course, Steeves’ victory was short lived. Results from a post race CU drug test indicated traces of several performance enhancing drugs, including large amounts of CERA, EPO, Testosterone, Doritos, pizza, Budweiser, and cheese curds. UCI President Patrick McQuaid stated that "the laboratory found enough EPO and Doritos to kill a large mammal."

Sean is facing a two year cycling ban for the CERA and EPO, and a lifetime ban for the cheese curds. When reached for comment at his roommate's house in Louisville, a naked Sean stated from the couch, "No comment." Ironically, sales of the commemorative wrist band have skyrocketed.

Work

Hey cLUBBERS!

I know you've been wondering what the hell I been up to so far this summer, but here's a look at my "office." I get to help bring in the horses in the morning and then it's off to the river. Rio Grande in the photo from a pass nearby. Wish you could all visit and see this beautiful area.

Week of Sean

I couldn't resist. This was my favorite shot of Sean and the boyz. Partypalooza on Wheels, July 24, 2004. Were did the matching speedos come from??
