Solid short track form..

Loyal fans

Experimentations in facial hair...

I know you thought this guy was kind of ornery and salty, but he's been known to apologize while passing you...

Race fans!

HOT short track action last night as Cyclonauts took to the field in 3 different races on a tight twisty devious course. The Albino Sasquatch, Cheese-O and the Crossbowmaker dueled at the front in the Bs, powering over the short steep ups and pulling away rapidly from the SS hand to hand combat three-way betwixt Dash, Thumper and Highroller. Thumper continued his run of excellent performances to pull away on lap 3 while Dash kept Highroller in his gun sights for the entire race but couldn't come around at the end. He must have been saving something though as he jumped right back in with Uno and the Cs for a couple more hot laps on the 29er. Excellent work everyone!

Hold Everything! Pong Party BBQ Rescheduled for Saturday. Can you make it?

I Smell A Wedding Cake!

Should be a good time in Kansas this weekend.

Bike to Work Day

Took the standard route in from Coal Creek (up CR 97 to Magnolia to Canyon to Creek Path) this morning with several bonus riders! In 4 years Chainsaw and I have only gotten to ride in together a handful of times but we've got Betty the dog staying with Grandma and a car stashed in Boulder so off we went! Riding in with a pregnant lady = even earlier wakeup. Here Chainsaw climbs 97 at about 6:10am

Steph "Top Shelf" Ryan joins us at Lazy Z and prepares to ride the brakes down all of the paved drop. My record from here to Canyon is 8:45

Tickler 3 mutha-trucker!!

Shame I missed out on this one last year, Caribou is a sweet ride and not another soul up there all day. Chainsaw and Highroller have already completed Tickler 4 (West Mag- Rose's Ride- Peak to Peak above Rollinsville-S. Beaver Creek Rd- CR 97- Magnolia- Car Wash and E. Mag into Ned- Peak to Peak North- PA Gulch- Sunset if you want to catch up) and I will be making the attempt at finishing off the beast shortly starting in Sunset. YOU don't want to miss out on the commemorative t-shirt for all Tickler finishers/survivors now do you? Get on it!

You'll be happy to know I did hike thru some snow...about 100'

Brutal!

Arapahoe Ranch before dropping down, down, down into Eldora. Great ride and I still have some spurs to explore another time...

Caivano: New High Plains trail definitely worth a try

Marty's High Plains Trail article is up

http://www.dailycamera.com/news/2007/jun/21/new-high-plains-trail-definitely-worth-a-try

On your left!

This NM traffic is murder! Highroller and Chainsaw survive rush hour returning from 5 excellent days in Santa Fe! Great food, great company, sweet hikes, bikes and swims and lots of sleeping in a sweet adobe home outside the city. Came back to the Chalet to find a jungle where our yard had been...sweet, summer has finally hit! Now time to ride! How did yesterdays short track go?

Matt C...

Matt C cruising down from Ward

Coffee break in Lyons

Dash, Cheseaux, Brad, Jess, Deuce, Mattya and some gal named Carrie. Big ride to Lyons, through Raymond, Peak to Peak, to Ward, Down and over Lee Hill made for a killer day, not to be ruined by strange fat guys tucking past us over and over on 36 and a crazy triathlete woman who refused to be passed up to Raymond. Good times.

Coolest add ever, plus no computers

Winner!

Thumper kicks off the NBBBC Cup season with a
big victory to grab the Maillot Monsieur Pomme de Terre off Dash's sweaty back. Highroller rolled in a distant, distant third and now sits at the bottom of the standings. Over in the gears r for queers world the Sasquatch looked surprisingly strong in Bs ahead of Cheese-O while Uno looked horrible in his blueberry shorts in Cs (but was riding strongly). Big cheering section of Jess, Doug, Melanie, Marty, Allison and Rose heckled the competitors viciously but not viciously enough to stop Thumper from his well deserved win!

GREEN, FISH & COWS.

Trip to SW WI to fish spring creeks sometimes no wider than 3-4 ft was a hoot. Plenty of green rolling hills and cattle ready to be tipped. Check out the far left calf and notice what happens when you approach mom for a drink of milk from the rear. Now that's blogworthy.

Mt. Toll

Mt. Toll fell to Cheese-O and Highroller on Sunday after a mere 4 hours of climbing.. here at Blue Lake there is still 1700ft to go. We skied the left skyline of Toll then the rightward trending shelf down from Toll Bowl to the lake

Cheese-O kicking steps below the throat

On top at 10am, perfect weather, great snow conditions. Steep! at the top, with lotsa big rocks to hit should you fall, then opening up to 1000ft of sweet corn down into Toll Bowl

Short track!

http://www.boulderracing.com/shorttrack.asp

Miles of smiles!

Strangely enough no one has volunteered to join me for A. Ride from Ned to Boulder Sat afternoon or B. Mt. Toll bc ski on Sunday...Hmmm. No worries, if we don't meet up at the Art Party tonight or the BMA shindig tomorrow night I'll just let myself in and we can snuggle and watch movies Sunday night. Riding CX today at 1pm also if'n you're around...

Warning! Art ahead

No not the writing, but THESE excellent photos courtesy of Marty that capture a wee bit of the breeze that kicked up there at the end of the ride last night. Girl got skillz! Kudos to Jason, Dash, and Thumper for running singlespeeds on this unfortunate journey and all for hanging in there despite the sandblasting. Next week should see the launch of the Wed Night race series at which our very own D.Ash will kick off the NBBBC season wearing the coveted Maillot Monsieur Pomme de Terre. If you've got a swingle and are willing to mingle then come on down!

Mixed bag

Gurst & Co hit out on a sweet ride with an increasingly large and in charge Chainsaw on Saturday down in Buffalo Creek and from all reports it rocked the rock of the righteous. Meanwhile somewhat closer to home Cheese-O, Double D, the Albino Sasquatch, Velvet Hammer and Highroller pitched in and moved some big freaking rocks at Heil Ranch while building the Wild Turkey loop. Loop is almost done (opening in Aug?) and will have some sweet view east over the plains, and at least one wicked rock bridge...

Finally made good on an old promise and fished! with our own Master of Scales, Uno on a nice stretch of the S. Boulder Creek downstream of Pinecliffe. That's some tricky shit but I caught like 20 fish so I guess Pete is a pretty good teacher. Now I need to invest $30 in the full set up...

what were YOU doing yesterday?

Membership has it's benefits...

Like you get to ride with Italian Stallionette Marty C! Thanks to Cheese-O, the Velvet Hammer (and DD?) for joining me on the Wild Turkey Trail build project tomorrow, should be fun and hopefully will give us another destination for Wed night rides! Sean I hope these pix cheer you up as I know you'll be in a virtual coma by this evening after working 4 whole days in a row ;)

Highroller on Hobbit 3

Braaa Braaaaaap!

There might be a little snow still.

Well, well, well....look who's picture I found on the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance website. I'm sure I speak for many when I say " Is this really the guy that should be giving anyone directions?"
