Kampai!

Highroller does his best for the cause of Japanese-American relations in old town Kyoto, yes more saki please!  Great town with cool combination of old pre-war buildings and temples (Kyoto was not heavily damaged in WWII) and super-compact alleys and small modern houses, neatly tended, tiny cars and vans parked on only barely enough driveway to get the car mostly out of the street.  Good bike scene with the super-trendy Japanese hipsters rockin' fixies, older riders on all sorts of funky folding bikes and commuters... Defintely worthy of further exploration in the future, if possible
