East Bellows Canyon

So on my one day off a week from fishing what do you think I'm up to? With most stream reports in the immediate vicinity poor, I hiked into East Bellows Canyon which borders the ranch to fish and feast the eyes. Amazing scenery with some pretty awesome pools to fish. Kind of lost count at how many I caught but the two I kept for breakfast were the ones that counted the most.

The pool pictured with the cascading entrance produced about 15 fish. Wish you all could have enjoyed it with me.

Before Highroller dives headlong into the Interbike maelstrom for the next month I wanted to remember to invite YOU, yes YOU, to a hike up into RMNP in honor of our very own monkey-man, Matt Cheseaux, who was lost to us almost a year ago. Does Sat Oct 3 work? Me thinks it does! Bring your hiking shoes, bring a picnic, bring your best dour expression, bring a limerick that rhymes with "ducking" or perhaps "motherplucker" and how about a memento, tall tale ( mostly or partially true tales will be accepted as well) or something else to share. You know, classy! Deets to follow (doubtful...)but do rendeszvous with your Section Leader for assignments...

Here are the exclusive first photographs of bIKE cLUB's newest member. Shannon Elizabeth Ash. Born august 1, 2009 at 12:45 am. 8 lbs 2 oz, 20-1/2 inches. For the record, I told the doctor to slow down the birth so that my daughter didn't share the same birthday as the albino sasquatch. Sean has a big enough personality to get the whole day to celebrate himself without having to share it with my daughter.
