-22 degrees

CCC goes deep! As in deep freeze, as we squeaked out of the Chalet this morning in negative 22 degree weather. Brrring it on!

And thus the Seal hath been broken!

Clap those flippers now you fish stinking semi-mammal! Actually I was referring to a "seal" in the centuries old signia-impressed upon wax sense for Chainsaw y Highroller, casting aside all doubts, wisdom, bits of advice and even flat out warnings have dropped knee into the world 'o Tele and turned the first addicting turns of our tele-careers. Eldora was in blizzard-like conditions as usual as we strapped on our new contraptions and took to the bunny hill but Chainsaw and Highroller overcame all and were soon linking turn in blissful abandon. Chainsaw noted accurately that tele is WAY easier to pickup than snowboarding and soon we were thowing tele-helis left and right like benedictions from a near sighted Pope..."I don't think he's quite aiming directly at ME with that Hail Mary!" Good fun and we'll be heading up bright and early Saturday for more, much more!

24 hours in the old pueblo

Congratulations to Sean and everyone who has kept at it and stayed motivated to ride these past few weeks/months. It's been dark, cold and I fell off the cycling wagon far too quickly. (I've made some PHENOMENAL early season tele-turns, however!) So, I was just thinking ahead a little and was wondering if anyone would like to join me for the 24 hour race down in Tucson in February? It would be my first 24 hour bike race, and I'm looking forward to having something to keep me focused. Otherwise, wine, chocolate and bad tv will be my demise.

Rose? MOA? 4-person team?

When in doubt, air it out.

Can't believe I got my fat ass this far off the ground. If you go back to the slide show, you can see my comfort level and airtime improve each time I went over this thing.

The Cat 4 35+ thumbnails have pictures of Pete K and Dash. On the ground.

Finally feeling a bit better this morning so I strapped on the strap on and humped the Bus up icy 97 for a cruise in on Magnolia. Gears were frozen, brakes were squealing and lungs were wheezing but I had the place to myself, and didn't even wreck once.

A bargain at twice the price! Zooming by deer, getting sideways down the switchbacks, experiencing a 43 degree swing over 20 miles...best way known to start off a Monday!

Beautiful warm sunny weather on Saturday sucked us out of the rack and into the woods. Still a little under the weather so skipped opening weekend at Eldora in favor of extra waffles, sleep and moseying. Also spotted a wicked looking Pugsley cruising thru Ned, interesting...

Coulda been nicer, just not sure how...

Family romp thru the hinterlands of Mud Lake testing out my new GoLite duds...danka Chainsaw! Probably too cool for me (jacket has a clear window on the wrist so you can view your timepiece/GPS/altimeter) but tough to beat at $37.

Kill stick Betty! Kill, kill!
