I don't seem to be able to link the picture here with details of where the brick is, so here is the fb page. I have closed the fb group so if you can't get in, let me know and I can add you.

Matt's Brick
Matt's brick has been placed in Chautauqua. The brick will not have Matt's name on it but a quote. "Tread softly because you tread on my dreams..." Happy Summer Everyone

One Day Late Solstice Evening Ride, Wednesday, 5:00 PM
Anyone interested in an evening ride on 6/22? Longish gravel grinder ride, some jeep roads, some pavement. Tentative route: I will be heading up to Sunset on Four Mile, north on Switzerland Trail to Left Hand (potential for wrong turns here), down to Lick Skillet up to Gold Hill, or Rowena Cutoff up to Sunshine Canyon, and home by whatever makes sense. Shortcuts taken as needed to be back before dark.
Leaving west end of Eben Fine Park at 5:00 PM. E-mail if interested.

Short Track fights back
It all started so well. Nice warm day. Some semblance of fitness in my legs. Top 15 going into the singletrack so I missed what witnesses reported to be a spectacular crash from the number two rider. Some junior hit a rock with his pedal and went ass over teakettle into the grass. The next time around, a couple of people are trying to help him out when I roll by. As I approached the wreckage sight on the next lap, there were half a dozen folks trying to see what was going on and starting to crowd the course.
As I edged away from the people, I ended up hitting the same rock with my pedal. (Apparently, Dash hit it pretty hard too.) No recollection of the crash. Just trying to get back in the race and watching the week old saddle come off the rails. Crap. Race over. The next day, I notice a bruise and a cut on my head. Inspecting the helmet, I notice a few precious hairs stuck in one of the several cracks in the foam. If you look closely, you can see a trickle of blood through the front vents of the helmet, which I totally missed because I went right into the shower when I got home.

Yeah, bike racing is awesome.
