Laramie Enduro

Registration opens for the Enduro on the 13th (Friday the 13th to be exact and not at all foreshadowing) and I highly recommend this race to any who haven't sampled before. Great course with mucho singletrack, ss-able (for the most part), low key and cheap-ish in a great area of WY. Chainsaw and Highroller are chomping at the bit to toe the line and YOU should plan on joining us! Event does fill up early though so sign up Friday! Link on the left, look down...further down, yep, there it is.
If you don't I PROBABLY WON'T CAST ASPERSIONS ON YOUR MANHOOD though the above doggie-purse most likely looks aweful attractive to you. New mother/father-hood is maybe an acceptable excuse for missing this classic but that's it!

Winter Carnival

Wow! Great weekend in Steamboat with the Winter Carnival shutting down the main street for two days of horse races, 3 legged ski races, jumps, slaloms, etc. while Howelson Hill hosted the parade with a couple thousand kids with flares slaloming down the steepest face in town, kids jumping off the nordic jumps, thru hoops of fire, a ski patroller going off the 68m jump with a flaming tobaggan behind him and the Lighted Man, shooting fireworks out of a 70lb outfit sprinkled with glowing lights and big red laser beams...pretty cool! Also got Trout outside for his first ever snowhike along the shores of Stagecoach Rez, slippy!

Fly Fishing Film Tour

Now I have seen some really stupid films at the Boulder Theater recently, including the Eight Ball Diaries and that really lame cyclocross movie about the 2007 KC Nationals. But this film has to take the cake. Two (2) hours of fly fishing? WTF!

Trout racing the scooter

Kid shows a nice turn of speed and some bike handling skillz! Could be a sprinter in the making (ala Chainsaw) vs a ? (poorly navigating, frequently crashing, epic sufferer) like his Pop. Didn't catch it on film but the Fish did throw down on his 1st endo recently as well. Full front flip over the handlebars! Sadly for him, his parents were too busy laughing and clapping respectively to show much sympathy as he lay there on his back catching his breath. What the? Yeah, that's what I say all the time son, all the time.

Owie! Gimme some snacks woman! Trout signalled his approval of the whole outing by sleeping most of the way, both ways


Chainsaw digs in on the last hill back to the TH. Quite the workout, especially for her as she hit Spin class earlier in the morning. Highroller made space for SuperBowl nachos the next day by taking a 2.5 hour cross bike ride over to Catamount Lake and some nice snowy back roads and for the 1st time in way too long we put in a decent outdoorsy weekend, complete with sore legs, well-deserved cold beers, nachos and a good football game to recover in front of...good times, good times!
