Have a superduper All Hallow's Eve Cyclonauts! Here's Helen Wheels en route to dominating at the Motet show (all Madonna covers!) on Saturday night! I think the shot-ski might have rejuvenated the ol' liver as we rocked out until 2am with hundreds of our closest ghouls and mummies! Sunday...not so pretty...

Never fails! Return from 75 degree sunny days in Fruita and get hit with 18" of snow (and still coming down!). Chainsaw and Highroller were just about the only fools to commute in from the Ned area this morning, passing 2 RTD busses stuck in the Canyon as well as experiencing a near-ugly coming thru the Narrows. Some lugnut delivery truck spinning uphill at about a 45 degree angle to the lines threatened to shut off both lanes, I tap the breaks, skid and stall the truck simultaneously. Uh oh. About 30 feet to go and I straightline it with some serious wrenching (no power steering all of a sudden) squeeze thru the gap as the delivery truck straightens it back out and kick start the Toyota back into action...fun! Today's not going to get any more exciting than those three seconds so if you need me I'll be napping under my desk...

Huge props to everyone who survived the trip out to Fruita for the Farva 2006 extravaganza! Gotta pay the piper but the journey was more than worth it with stellar, splitter weather, a prime camp spot, rats, Foreigner, shot-ski, target-shooting, hot showers, frisbee, Jaeger, roaring campfire, s'mores, new friends, old bikes, Joe's, a budding Farva dynasty, bike vids, stock-tank diving, suicidal raccoons, sarcastic waitresses, Kessel Run in top nick, Reese's PB Cups and many more miles and smiles than you can shake a stick at!! Thanks all!

How 'bout them smoke-burgers eh? Mucho kudos to all and sundry who made the trek, took the Shot-Ski in two hands and threw down for Farvas 06...probably our best ever (what with limited male nudity)! Best 5 seconds of riding I've ever seen in person courtesy of B-rad is up here www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vtBawEbJqg

Harvest Moon
If you were up early Saturday, like Rose, Sean, Bobbi and I were, you may have seen the moon setting behind the Flatirons. Stunning!
High above the Platte River on the Colorado Trail, Sean takes a moment to reflect...or is he just trying to avoid listening to the girls talk about their "female issues"??
Bobbi, Rose and Sean taking a break before the 4 mile descent
So, maybe we got rained out of White Rim today, but we still got out and enjoyed a perfect Fall day closer to home. Rose checks out the view at Mile 18.
The cool-down through Waterton Canyon. Total mileage: 36
Later that day, I racked up some bonus miles on a warm, bright, moonlight ride around Standley Lake in West-sinister!
